A Marvel of Art and Engineering

As I look at this section of a World War II aircraft engine, with its cooling fins, hoses, gaskets, bolts, and valves, I see a marvel of both art and engineering. User friendly IT support also requires a balance of art and engineering. There’s the logical precision of computers and operating systems and the creativity of communication with our clients. Do we replace a faulty part, or do we buy a brand new machine? Do we patch an existing email server or move to Microsoft 365? Not everyone needs the latest and greatest, but waiting for things to break means disruptive downtime.

The way you can help me this week is to introduce me to people who build stuff and want to stay ahead of the breakage curve. Contractors, manufacturers, parts suppliers. Their support network of accountants and lawyers. Their brand ambassadors. The volunteer organizations they belong to. My business depends on thinkers and doers in many different fields.
